Jays (men) win exhibition opener vs #16 Iowa State 71-58

Well, here we go! The unofficial opener to the Men’s 2025-26 basketball season kicked off last evening. The #23 (AP) Jays hosting the #16 (AP) Iowa St Cyclones at the CHICO. This was the 1st exhibition game ISU has played in many years, while the Jays have done so over the last 2 years.

Coach Mac played 11 players over 10 minutes each, in evaluating his team, combinations of lineups, individual gametime evals, and progress since the opening of official practices. There were ups & downs noted. a good run of passing & shooting in the 1st half, turnovers & difficulty with ISU’s defensive pressures in the 2nd half. Overall, a good outing for the 1st true on-court run.
