Jays tabbed #23 in both AP & Coaches National Polls
Regular Season nonconference slate is on Deck.
Well the exhibition slate is complete. The BE Media Day was a success. The Big East coaches put out their annual predictions…ahemmm. The start of the regular season is on deck (Nov 3rd). CU’s 1st tilt is Nov 5th vs South Dakota. All is well.
A few surprises in the BE Coaches preseason poll.
St Johns was the pick for conference regular season champs – over Connecticut. UConn is higher ranked in both major polls. The coaches giving Kim English and the Friars much love, slating them in 4th place, ahead of Marquette, Georgetown, and Villanova. The Musketeers (Xavier), rebuilding & with new coaches – is picked 8th over both Butler & DePaul. Hmmm? Perhaps they are aware of something the rest of us are not? Nahhhh. Oh well…the proof is in the pudding – we’ll know soon enough.

Exhibition Slate.
The Jays hosted exhibitions versus Iowa State U and Colorado State U as their ‘pre-season’ slate. Both were 12 point wins. Mac played 11 players against ISU, 13 versus CSU. Good tilts for the learning experiences for all 3 teams. Jays experimented with multiple lineups in both games.
Recruiting (247 numbers).
Attending the ISU Game: 2026 Commits #58 Katrelle Harmon, SF#46 Jayden Coon, prospect #20 Jax Richardson. 2027 recruits #121 Stevie Hall (PG), #139 London Dada (SF), and CJ Reef (SG) were reportedly in attendance.
Attending the CSU Game: per Mike Sautter. All are 2027 kids. Ctr Edema is #53, PGs Gunther and Hunter are both highly regarded. #139 SF Dada is a surging local forward from Om Westside. LE: It appears that 2027 PG (#121 on 247) Stevie Hall, unofficially attended the CSU game (with his dad), not the ISU game.
The Jays look very talented and deep. Supposedly all are healthy. The grind begins next week. Looking forward to a very good season for our Jays.
