Early significant stretch…

Back in the pre-season many looked at the Jays February stretch of games – 11th thru 21st (@DePaul, Villanova, @UConn, @StJ-MSG) as the defining challenging stretch of the conference slate- as both UConn and StJ were highly ranked entering the season. However, the non-conference has shown that Butler, Nova, and Seton Hall are better than previously predicted. Thus this upcoming New Years slate of Butler, Seton Hall, Nova, & St Johns may prove to be the more significant run.

The Jays are sitting in 2nd place entering this segment, behind Connecticut. With a successful run, Creighton can solidly cement themselves in the top tier – putting distance between themselves and the 2nd tier pursuit.

These next 2 weeks…4 games in 12 days. This stretch may well set the tone for the rest of the conference slate. A successful Jays run will strike caution/fear in the hearts of the league. Instead of a UConn running through the slate – the Jays ‘lettin’ it fly’ through the league.

I really like the thought of lil’ Creighton lighting up the league…Runnin’ & Gunnin’ its’ way through the slate.
