On the Road again…

The 2025-26 Big East regular season finale was today for our Creighton Bluejays. Ending the seaon on the road @Hinkle…the Butler Bulldogs. Good news is we won the finale over Butler 76-59, to finish the regular season at 15-16 overall / 9-11 BE.
Jays are making history this season…and not the kind I / we enjoy.
- This will be the 1st losing regular season since the 2014-15 season (14-19/4-14 in BE).
- Creighton will miss the 20 win mark for the 1st time in the last 11 seasons (also the 2014-15 year), and
- Fail to win 10 conference games for the 1st time in the last six (6) seasons (2018-19, 9-9).

Jays appear to be headed for the BET 5-seed…after DePaul (16-14 / 8-11BE) lost to Villanova tonight. However, should DePaul beat Butler on Saturday, 7th March 2026, they will tie CU in conference play and have the tiebreaker (swept the Jays) to take the 5-seed.
Creighton’s only chance for postseason play lies in winning the BET next week in NYC. The won’t get an NIT bid…and imho should not accept a lesser postseason tourney (CBI / CIT), but probably will when offered (if they have a shot to squeak 20 w’s).
Note: Top 25 2026 recruit Jaxon Richardson (247-#21, On3/Rivals-#27 , ESPN_#17 ) is deciding/declaring his college choice this week. Jays are still in the hunt for him. 247 thinks that he’s a Jay (predictions).
No word yet on Cody Peck….Ctr. 6-10/Davidson, NC. 247-#91 / ESPN-#99
Up next: Big East Tourney begins next Wednesday, March 11th – 14th.
