Over the last 2 days I sent out messages to over 50 of the Bluejay faithful, 25+ from both boards. Asking them who they thought would be our 2019 men’s basketball commits. The Jays have well over 20 offers out on the table, including several top 50 recruits. Recruits can be found via the BJB Recruiting page and the BJU recruiting Matrix. Hopefully we get a good response from those queried.

With the quality of offered recruits and the numbers offered, Creighton should score a very good 2 or 3 player class in 2019. For the purposes of this poll I asked for a 3 player selection. If you’d like to submit, please leave a PM @gtmoBlue on twitter, or below with your fan handle.

The responses have begun to trickle in. I plan to post the results next Monday here on Bluenotes.

Denzel’s a Jay!

2018 Regular transfer (sit1/play2) Denzel Mahoney, SF, of SE Mizzou’s a Jay. Committed today via twitter.

Mahoney is the past 2016-17 OVC FoY and 2017-18 OVC Poy. 6-5/215 SF from Florida averaging 19.3 points per game. He had a high usage rate but was productive and efficient. 54.2% eFG%, 61.1% true shooting % (factors in his trips to the FT line where he shot 206 FTs at 82.5%). Denzel shot over 40% from the 3.

Marcus Foster lead our team last year with 88 FTA.
