Looking down the block and around the corner…

This is why we do it!

This…is why we do it! Glory… Legacy… Tradition.  We do it cause we’ve always strived for greater, for glory, for honor.  Since 1878 Creighton has strived to be of distinction, of honor, and of champions.  It is no less today in 2017 than of decades past, no less today than to be champions of distinction, no less today than to represent Creighton as a university of exceptional merit.  Nothing beats being a Champion.  Champions never die, they live forever!  There is room in the record books for you.

Vince Lombardi stated:  Chase perfection and catch excellence.”

We are a great scholastic institution and we expect no less of our athletic teams and individuals.  Strive for perfection & exception, strive for excellence, strive for greatness – Today!  And should you reap conference, regional, and national acclaim along the way, so be it.

In Vinardi Gym the sign states – Accept the Challenge!

I say – Strive for greatness and when in doubt, Be Bold!

We are still on the threshold of the 21st Century.  We are still new in this era.  Now is the time to set the bar high, to stake out new territory-new goals to reach.  Now is the dawn of new greatness.  Let us resolve to strive for perfection, to reach the unreachable star, to beat the unbeatable foe (our doubts and fears).  Let us set anew the quest to be the best we are able to be and in the process become Champions anew.

This is why we do it.  To attain the summit of lofty goals, to reset the table for new achievements, to redouble our efforts at greatness. We do it to honor our heroes: Past – Present – Future!  We do it to increase and multiply our great history, legacy, and traditions!

More Champions and Championships are coming our way.  Get Ready-Be Prepared.

Finally, the word is out: Creighton!

4-star Ian Steere’s a Jay!

(and the Creighton Pipeline is officially open in North Carolina.)

What a surprising Summer it has been thus far for the good coaches, staff, and fans of the Creighton Bluejays.  We received a gift from Missouri as Lee’s Summit’s SF Chris Bishop surprisingly committed to Creighton on 21 June.  Chris is one of git’s “earmarked” recruits for 2018, Top 150 status, and tickled me pink with the news.  Bossi states Chris is due for promotion to Rivals 4-star level. The very next day the Jays pickup an “out of the blue” surprise transfer student from U of New Mexico in the name of SG/SF Damien Jefferson, from E. Chicago, Indiana – Sit 1, Play 3.

Now… as a belated 4th of July gift, North Carolina stud PF/C Ian Steere (2018) has committed to the Hilltop as of yesterday 6 July 2017.

I’m coming to Omaha babyyyy‼️🐦

Ian is rated 4 Star by Scout (#76) and Espn.  Bossi states Ian is due for Rivals 4* on the next update.  The pickup of Steere is a Major Get by CU.  He has a long list of major suitors and it was believed that Louisville was the leader for Ian.  Again, suddenly-swiftly Ian tweeted his decision of “Coming to Omaha” and shocked a whole slew of pundits and experts (me included).  Mr. Steere visited back in June with other NC HS recruits, including Jeff McInnis and others.  Ian cited his Father and coaches including Keith Gatlin and AAU wizard Jeff McInnis for influencing and developing him as a player and person.

Ian is the third straight high level recruit snagged in North Carolina.  Creighton signed 2016’s Davion Mintz, 2017’s Ty-Shon Alexander, and now 2018’s Ian Steere.  Davion opened the door, Ty-shon confirmed we are players, and now Ian’s commit signals the pipeline is officially open and flowing.  This committment also signals to 2018 5-star high end NC PG Devon Dotson that CU is now a destination.

With thanks to prominent HS coaches including North Mecklenburg, Oak Hill Academy, and now Wesleyan Christian prep, along with AAU Team Charlotte’s Jeff McInnis, we can now expect Creighton to compete and sign more high level North Carolinians, as we are in on several the next few years.

And there is a Bonus, to boot.  There is nothing better than coming into Duke and UNC’s yard and taking high level recruits.  Luv ya Roy and Coach K…looking forward to our next game with you.
