Champagne…and a little silver “hershey kiss” necklace for you
and best of all – a little hoops victory over the Saluki’s.

The Bluejays traveled to Carbondale to take on their archrivals, the SIU Saluki’s. Always a tough contest…the Jays were more than prepared on this day. Creighton throttled the Saluki’s 82-60 in front of a near sellout crowd. This one was never in doubt. Creighton spotted SIU the early 3 point lead, then ran off a 12 point run to take the lead, one they would not relinquish. The game was nationally televised on ESPN2. The good showing will definitely help the Jays make a case for the NCAA Tournament. The links below detail the win.

In addition to the Jays victory, they received encouraging comments from the ESPN game commentators during the broadcast. Both stated that CU is deserving of an NCAA at-large bid, for the upcoming postseason tourney.

Lastly, in another bit of good news…The shockers of WSU upset Northern Iowa, in Wichita tonight. The Panthers conference lead is cut to 1 game, with 3 conference games left to play.

All in all a great saturday and a great Valentine’s Day for Creighton.
