The big recruiting weekend has come and gone.  Both Top 100 SF Chris Clarke and PG Marlon Stewart (and families) visited the Hilltop this past weekend and were definitely impressed with Creighton and the opportunity in Omaha.  Chris tweeted that CU was “marvelous” and Marlon was similarly struck.  Coach Mac batted .500 ball with these young men, as expected – as Chris did not commit on this visit.  Marlon however, tweeted that he would be deciding on Monday (today).  

As expected, the Davenport, Iowa area 3 star (Rivals) committed to Creighton this afternoon.  Marlon becomes the Jays 2nd verbal commit for 2015 – and also the staff’s 2nd under-the-radar steal this recruiting season, joining 4 star C/PF Justin Patton as future Bluejays.  Marlon’s decisive commit puts a sweet ending on the seeming merry-go-round of upcoming PG visits.  Jays are movin’ on.

Both the Rivals site above and the Bluejay Underground have topic threads and stories on Marlon’s lightning fast recruitment and commitment.  

The message boards assumption that the PG search is complete and that the focus moving forward will center around landing an SG and SF.  It still appears that Creighton is well placed with its’ 2 top targets in SG Matt McQuaid (did not commit while visiting Mich St) and SF Chris Clarke, who still has 1 or 2 remaining scheduled visits (Va Tech, Tennessee).  Most of the faithful are hopeful to get one of these two Top 100 recruits.  IMO (after they have both visited) the Jays will get commitments from both Matt & Chris.   

There are still visits scheduled for some 2016 recruits, but in all likelihood 2015 visits are complete…unless an out of the blue 2015 wing recruit surfaces.
