Big East Recruiting – 2017

It’s early in the cycle but the Big East is off to a great start on the 2017 Basketball Recruiting circuit.  In the 247 team rankings the Big East has 3 teams in the Top 20 and 7 teams in the Top 50.  Again, it is early and these rankings will change as the recruiting cycle progresses, but this is a great start fot the 2017 Class.

In alphabetical order.

Butler:  An excellent class thus far, ranked 16th by 247.

Creighton:  Another great start by a BE team, ranked 9th by 247.

No. 64 ESPN, SG Ty-Shon Alexander

No. 98 ESPN, SG Mitchell Ballock

DePaul: And so it continues – another great start.

The 28th best 2017 PG (ESPN 4 star), PG Justin Roberts

Georgetown:  No commits yet, but in on several (4-6) top recruits.

Marquette:  More top starts…

No. 58 ESPN, SG Jordan Poole

NR (ESPN) PF Ikechukwu Eke

Providence:  More top starts…No. 47th class by 247.

The 31st best 2017 Ctr (ESPN 4 star), Ctr Dajour Dickens

PC is in on a dozen other top recruits

Seton Hall:  Great start, and the Pirates are in on a dozen more top recruits. No 36th class by 247,

No. 63 ESPN, SG Myles Cale.

St. Johns:   More top starts…No. 30th class by 247.

No 36 ESPN, Ctr Zach Brown

Villanova:  No. 12 class by 247 Sports.

No. 46 ESPN, SF Jermaine Samuels

The No. 30 PF for 2017 (ESPN 4 star), PF Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree

Xavier:  No. 7 Class by 247 Sports.

No. 85 ESPN, SF Naji Marshall

The 41st best SG (ESPN 4 star), SG Elias Harden

The 22nd best SF (ESPN 4 star), SF Jarred Ridder

It only gets better from here.  The Big East will hold its’ own and continue to recruit well with Top 50 classes.
