Adelphi Grad Transfer Manny Suarez commits to the Jays

The well traveled NJ kid, Manuel Suarez landed in Omaha to visit the Bluejays last weekend to see what the buzz was about Omaha. In the end he committed to Creighton as a graduate transfer student.
Manny fills a gap in the pivot as the Jays were deemed shorthanded by many, with the decision by Justin Patton to enter the NBA Draft (w agent).
He (Suarez) hails from Cliffside Park, NJ and graduated from Marist HS in Bayonne. Suarez spent 2 years (2013-15) at Fordham, redshirting his 1st year and playing as a sophomore. He then transferred to Adelphi University, where he played and started over his 2 year span there. He graduates this month from Adelphi, but evidently wants to use his 4th year of eligibility to possibly enhance his appeal to overseas pro basketball organizations.

This committment comes as a boon for both parties. Creighton gets needed depth, bulk, and rebounding in the paint, coming from an improved and seasoned player. Manny gets a top tier stage to show his skills for professional scouts – NBA and Overseas. This is a win-win for all involved. – gtmoBlue
