Ahhh…Here we go, Again.

CSC probes overlimits spending…Crackdown Ahead?

Say it ain’t so.

NIL Slide – NorthHowler.com

ESPN:

The College Sports Commission is looking into possible rules violations at between five and 10 Power 4 schools regarding payments to players, according to multiple reports.

According to CBS Sports, which first reported the existence of the queries, the questions involve potential violations of the $21.5 million spending cap that a school can share with players, along with third-party payments to players that allow schools to circumvent the cap.

Among the CSC’s main functions is to monitor third-party deals with so-called “associated entities” — people and companies that do business with their respective schools — to make sure they are fairly valued and that they have a valid business purpose.

With athletic departments using third-party NIL to circumvent the cap, some schools are reported to be spending up to $50 million on their football rosters this year.

Well! No surprise here folks. The good folks in the various NIL collectives, Booster groups, Fatcat donor suites, and the like examined, found, and of course, have exploited any and all loopholes, gaps, wiggleroom spaces in the NCAA and state legislature(s) Pay-4-Play language. This is to be expected. My surprise is in the fact that the reports are talking about football alone! So add another $7-10M for basketball and the ancillary sports.

This is golden news. I fully expect that when the smoke clears we’ll see Massive Handslaps to schools in the P4 who are breaking/exceeding the rules. But of course, no punishments of any consequence are forthccoming, as per normal…unless of course one can secure a Proper fall guy.

Please standby for corrective action: Arizona St, SMU, Memphis, and Prairie View A&M…

Get your popcorn and beer ready as this is merely a ‘developing’ saga. Much more to come. This is far better’n watching the Simpson’s or The Boys tv series. Such fun!
