Jays Close the Non-conference Season with Solid Win over Northwestern

Men's Basketball Tops Northwestern, Improves to 10-1

Jays host 10-1 Northwestern tonight at the C-Link Center, in the final non-conference game for both teams. The Bluejays battled well against the Wildcats and survived for an 87-79 Win.
A capacity crowd of 17,676 fans were in attendance, the 2nd largest home crowd in Creighton history. (click title for story link)
Forward Doug McDermott’s 27 points in 28 minutes led five Jays in double figures. He sank 10 of 14 shots from the floor and is tied with Damian Lillard (Weber State) for the national scoring lead (25.364 ppg) after Thursday.
Creighton improved to 10-1 on the non-conference portion of the season with the win, and improved to 3-0 against Big Ten Conference teams this year. Northwestern fell to 10-2 with the loss.
