The Men’s Basketball 2024 recruiting cycle is off to a great start. The Jays have had a few visits from prized recruits: 4* recruits PG Juni Mobley, SFs Tyler Betsey & Darrion Sutton, PF Jackson McAndrew, & SG Larry Johnson, C JT Rock; have all been on the Hilltop. 3* PG/SG Tyler Davis also visited back in June ’23.

We missed on a SG/SF who committed to Coach Rick Pitino and St. Johns. But young Mr. Johnson showed up on 14 September, for an Official Visit, no less. Surprise! He had stated he had a good time on the Hilltop. Larry stated he has a good relationship with Mac and the staff, and loved his time with the team, loves the Jays style of play.

In choosing the Jays today, Larry restated all of the above, as well as, his seeing himself contributing right away in the Bluejay’s style of play. He is also looking forward to playing for the 18K in the stands.

Frosh Recruits PG Rati & PF Modestas:  Official

Rati & Modestas in Omaha

Folks have been discussing the arrivals of Frosh recruits Rati Andronikashvili and Modestas Kancleris, and whether they will have trouble getting into the U.S. Immigration has been a tough nut to crack during the current administration, with the Covid-19 pandemic making matters worse. Back on August 4th, in an Omaha World Herald article, Coach Mac anticipated the duo making it into Omaha late. Rati & Modestas will also have to endure a 2 week isolation upon their arrival. The main thing is that they arrive in the Big O.

Earlier this week (Thursday), Tim Krueger of BluejayBanter.com, stated the new euro recruits were expected in on Friday, Aug 21st. Everyone (fans) is/are hoping that will be the case.

Confirmed: Both Rati and Modestas are on campus in Omaha.
