Stretch Run update:

Latest News/  Center Jacob Epperson is out for the season with a broken right leg.  No timeline given yet on his return.  Wondering if he will be available for the BET/NCAA?

Smallball will probably be our main menu item.  Hopeful that KJ, Bishop, and Zeil can manup the frontcourt.  Currently:  There were no midyear pickups.  Kelvin Jones and Chris Bishop have been playing well, and walkon Nic Zeil has seen a little spot play.  Shereef Mitchell had been getting 10+ mpg until a head injury on 26Jan20 vs Xavier.  He has sat out the last 3 games and is “undetermined” for tonight against #10 Seton Hall.

Davion Mintz is out for the season, announced this past December.  No official word, but an oceanful of speculation irt whether Davion will return or grad transfer for next season.

Preseason Picks:  Picks for Creighton have been all over the place.  A few as high as 3rd (NBC) place to the BE Coaches poll with the Jays in 7th.  My pick had been for 3rd, barring injuries.  Now we have injuries.  Jays in the ARV section of the AP (4) & Coaches Polls (13).

Currently the team sits at 18-6/7-4 BE (tie 2nd) and ranked in both polls…AP 23/Coaches 21.  Had a 4 game win streak snapped @Providence.  Just beat StJ at home and is on the road @SetonHall (#10 AP) tonite.  Jays seeded 5 or 6 in most brackets.

Hoops Visits:  Oct’19 visits by 2020 SG Kerwin Walton -Minn. and 2021 SG Tamar Bates -KCMO are in the books.  These were the 2nd visits by both recruits.  Jays in the hunt for both.  A few bluebloods have entered the mix on Walton.  Jays in the lead for Bates.

Evidently Bates was due back on the Hilltop in late December/January, but had a scheduling conflict.

2021 SG/Wing Josh Primo visited on 26 Jan 20/Xavier game.  Poss reclass to 2020?

2022 SF/Wing Jasen Green visited on 17 Dec 19/Okla game.
