Stacatto: 2021 Recruiting Update

Latest on the Bluejay class of 2021.

Here’s the latest published pieces on the top Creighton 2021 recruiting targets.  In order: #11 SG Hunter Sallis, #64 PF Mason Miller, #83 SG Tamar Bates, and NR SF Hunter DeVries.

Rivals Eric Bossi and his cohorts have published their latest on the recruiting classes of 2021 and 2022.  A couple of Bluejay targets included in their articles.

One Rivals article includes two Corey Evans paragraphs on CU top target, local recruit, SG Hunter Sallis.  Hunter is up to #11 on Rivals and has recent UK interest (no offer yet).  His list is long, but the Jays are still on it.

Another article on Rivals #64 PF Mason Miller.  CU reportedly in his Top 5 and is a strong contender for him.

A Spring 2021 decision may be likely for Miller.

Top KCMO 2021 CU target SG Tamar Bates (Rivals #83) has narrowed his list down to seven (7) schools.  Jays make the cut.

Class of 2021  4-Star

Tamar Bates is down to 7 schools. Kansas, Oregon, Texas, Creighton, Missouri, Alabama, and Iowa State make the cut.

___________ Where do you want to see him go?

Tamar is off to IMG Academy (Florida) for his senior season of HS play.  Has numerous visits to the Hilltop over the last 2 years.  Jays definitely in the mix for his services.  His going to IMG might open a door or two – should the Jays not secure Mason Miller.
According to this Rivals article Tamar will make a decision prior to the season in November 2020.
Lastly, the last article on SF Tucker DeVries (Rivals SF#47) was approx. one month ago.  Bossi noted his dilemma in making a choice of schools, given his dad is the HC at Drake University, in Iowa.

Although some new schools have entered the mix and while Tucker’s stock is on the rise, both Drake and Creighton continue to be the frontrunners.  I would personally be surprised if TD wound up at an outsider school.

Any combination of these 4 (or all of them) along with 2021 Commit PG Ryan Nembhard will make for one of Creighton’s top all-time recruiting classes.

Roll damn Jays.
